Portage Bay Systems, Inc. has been recently named North American
distributor of the German-built Arens Racing Engine product line.
Portage Bay Systems supplies complete racing outboard motors, racing
power heads, lower units, parts, and service in North America for the Arens Racing
Engines.
The Arens Racing Engine product line currently includes a 1-cylinder
125cc model, a 2-cylinder 250cc model, and a 4-cylinder 500cc

Arens Racing Engines are high-tech methanol-burning flat-out racing
motors designed specifically for racing in the 125cc, 250cc, and 500cc
classes of the Professional Racing Outboard (PRO) Category of the
American Power Boat Association (APBA), the O125, O250, and O500 classes
of the Union of International Motorboating (UIM), and similar classes in
other sanctioning bodies. Arens Racing Engines are not designed
for general recreational use.
Arens Racing Engines, the product of German design and manufacturing,
took 2nd place (driver: Oliver Lucas, Austria) at the 2003 O125 UIM World Championship in Lakeland,
Florida. Congratulations Oliver. The innovative
125cc Arens Racing Engine incorporates a "balance shaft" to
reduce the inherent vibration of a 1 cylinder motor.
